A little about Citywide...

City Wide Hold Up is the annual fundraiser held by the Texas Wranglers to benefit Easter Seals–Central Texas.

The event draws hundreds of volunteers and sends them to street corners throughout Austin to “hold up” passing motorists for change. Over the past seventeen years, with the help of over 8000 volunteers, City Wide Hold Up has raised over $430,000 for Easter Seals in only 80 hours! Our goal for 2015 is $35,000, which can be met and surpassed with your support.

City Wide Hold Up was the original idea of Marence Daniel Anderson who became a Wrangler in the fall of 1996. Unfortunately, M.D. passed away before his vision was realized, but his closest friends and family became determined to fulfill his dream.

On the morning of November 14th, volunteers will first meet at the parking lot of UT Disch-Falk field at 9:00AM. From there, volunteers will sign in, grab some complimentary breakfast and meet their other team members that will be on the same corner. After this meeting, volunteers will head out to major street corners around Austin to collect money from passing motorists.

Each team will be led by at least one Texas Wrangler. No volunteer team will be sent out alone. There is two shifts. The first is from 10:00AM-1:00PM and the second is from 1:00PM-4:00PM. All volunteers will receive an event t-shirt to wear during their shift. After all the volunteers make it back to Disch-Falk field, we will provide lunch and live music to celebrate a great day of service.

Student organizations and groups are encouraged to sign up under their organization name so that they can be placed at the same corner. If you have any special requests, questions, or comments, please indicate them during the registration process. The deadline to sign up is Saturday, November 14th at 2:00AM.
